Craziness, or divine vision?

Short Film Based on the Tarot Cards

A young woman unfortunately misses the last subway; it's already late, and she needs to get home. She now has to go back on foot, and already scared by the night, will be chased by a strange character and weird vision on the way, making her even more terrified.

This short film was achieved with a whole team :

- I was the animator, and conceptor of the cards.

- Etienne Gaumont was our modelling and simulation artist

- Erika Aube was the film editor, and the original idea/concept of the film was her's

- Vincent Ouellet was the director, cameraman

- Émilie Sigouin and Carl Péloquin , both actors

- Vanessa Massera for the music

Design Concept

We were trying to build up a magic and uncanny ambiance, with night and mystical glows shades.

I came up with personalised Tarot cards, giving and idea of the wanted final feeling.

Animation Steps

I had to different scenes to animate, each one with its own complex skeleton.

The first scene presented the Stone Lion, symbol of the Strength.

He waking up from a long stone sleep, and in the contrary of what the women's reaction shows, he is all playful.

The second one was the reflection of death on the shop window of a store.

The horse is rearing in order to intimidate the women. I attempted to make the skeleton's body respond to the horse's movements, in order to give it a realistic look.
